3-1 Astros Win over Athletics Evens Season Record
|
The Houston Astros topped the Oakland Athletics, 3-1, in National League action at Oakland Coliseum. The game was highlighted by the performance of Houston pitcher Victor Ramos. Ramos went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 1. His record improves to 6-4. Jared Krajenka earned save number 9 this season.
Houston used the bat of Kaito Kozono to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Astros ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Houston skipper Aaron Shafer. "I can't complain."
At 38-38, the Astros find themselves in 6th place in the National League West Division.
