Cubs Best Expos, 6-4
|
In the 6-4 Chicago win over Montreal, the impact of Dionisio Capelli was substantial. Capelli, who led the NL in triples with 11 last year, was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Chicago reliever Devin Zietz was the winner. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Omari Blunt. Bobby Morgan earned the save for Chicago, his 13th.
In the bottom of the 5th, Chicago took the lead on a 3-run home run by Chris Burch. At the time, the Cubs were trailing 4-3, but Burch's hit with two outs against Montreal pitcher Omari Blunt put them in front, 6-4.
"A great game, a great day," said Burch about the win. "I can't complain."
After today's action, Chicago sits at 40-34; Montreal slips to 20-53.
