Nationals Cut Down Pirates, 4-0
|
Washington Nationals starter Jaylin Morris hurled his team past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-0. In 6.1 innings, Morris surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. With the victory, the Nationals record now stands at 46-28.
Washington used a well-timed hit by Jacob Holloway to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Morris.
