Brewers Score Late, Upend Astros, 6-5
|
Milwaukee took on Houston in front of a lively crowd.
Despite a great performance by Houston left fielder Jordan Villa, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Astros by the score of 6-5 at Minute Maid Park. Villa went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kevin Bailey converted his 21st save in 22 tries.
The result might have been different for Milwaukee, had it not been for Jim Syfert, the two-time All-Star . Syfert stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Milwaukee up, 4-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We all want to win," said Syfert. "We all want to do our part."
The second-place Brewers go to 35-38.
