Boston Befuddled by Huffman in 7-0 Loss
|
All went well for Robby Huffman of the New York Mets as he pitched his team to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Boston Red Sox, limiting them to 3 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Huffman on the day.
"Robby's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Mets manager Matt Young. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the New York right-hander rang up 12 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Red Sox manager Josh Conway. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
So far this season, Huffman has logged a 5-2 record with a 2.74 ERA. He has started 14 games, hurled 88.2 innings and registered 88 strikeouts and 21 walks.
