Diamondbacks Top Giants, 9-3
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a win at Oracle Park, taking down the San Francisco Giants, 9-3. Starting pitcher Josh Lewis was a big reason why. Lewis got the win, improving to 7-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Lewis allowed 3 runs. The third-place Diamondbacks sport a record of 34-37.
Arizona needed the clutch hitting of Ruben Godinez to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 5-3. For the game, Godinez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Lewis told the Arizona Gazette.
