Pirates Rally For 9-8 Win
The New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the New York Yankees, 9-8, the lion's share of the credit going to designated hitter Joe Curry. On the day, Curry slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pirates. Nate Rowe earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 16th of the year.

Pittsburgh needed the clutch hitting of Ben Herring to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pirates on top, 9-8. For the game, Herring had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"What a game," said Herring. "We needed every last run."

The 4th-place Pirates now have a win-loss record of 34-35.
