Marlins Topple Spiders, 7-3
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Miami Marlins and Cleveland Spiders came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Nate Hirsch had a 3-RBI game, during Miami's 7-3 triumph over Cleveland. Hirsch had 1 single, 2 doubles, and 1 walk in the contest. Arturo Farias, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-7. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. B.J. Gonzales closed the game out for Miami, earning his 5th save.
In the top of the second, with the game still scoreless, Hirsch hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"I had some good swings out there," said Hirsch.
Miami currently is in 6th place in the National League East Division at 29-38.
