Mets Top Braves, 5-3
|
The New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves, 5-3, at Citi Field. New York left fielder Luis Trejo had an outstanding performance. He went 1-2 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Edwin Morin notched his 6th save in 8 chances. New York is now 27-35, Atlanta 39-24.
Trejo contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for New York in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Trejo took a fastball from Bruce Esparza and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Mets to leap in front, 3-2.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Trejo, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
