Danforth, Blue Jays Clobber Spiders, 10-2
|
The Toronto Blue Jays used an offensive barrage to beat the Cleveland Spiders, 10-2, at Rogers Centre. Ty Danforth led the way, going 3-for-5 for Toronto. The win belongs to Willie Weiss in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Ramon Rosas took the loss for Cleveland. The win makes Toronto 29-33.
Toronto grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Mario Alaniz delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Blue Jays.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Alaniz.
