Giants Topple Mets, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring game between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets, pitcher Todd Clarke was masterful on the mound. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. Josh Romero locked down his 13th save. San Francisco occupies first place in the National League West Division at 38-21.
The Giants got a big at-bat from catcher Bubba Gilvin. For the game, Gilvin went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave San Francisco a 2-0 lead.
"Nervous? No," said Clarke. "It was my time to shine."
