Blue Jays Lick Rockies, 10-1
|
The 10-1 Toronto win over Colorado was due largely to Alexander Vargas. The Blue Jays shortstop belted 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Bobby Scalise, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed no runs on no hits. At 27-31, the Blue Jays find themselves in 6th place in the American League East Division.
Vargas had a timely hit for Toronto in the bottom of the sixth. With Colorado trailing 1-0, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 4-1, Toronto.
"I wish every win came this easy," said Vargas.
