Rockies Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Colorado Rockies beat the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, in 11 innings. Colorado first baseman Danny Rojas, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Colorado reliever Tae-kon Kim picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Mike Sanders absorbed the loss. Colorado, at 24-28, sits in third place in the American League West Division.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Rojas hit a cutter from Mike Sanders for a run-scoring single. The Rockies, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Rojas said.
