Nationals Drop Yankees, 4-2
|
Starting pitcher Andy Foley was a major factor in the 4-2 Washington Nationals triumph over the New York Yankees. Danny Alvarez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Chris Metcalf was tagged with the loss. The loss makes New York 36-17.
Doug Feger drew 2 walk for Washington. In a tie game with no one out in the bottom of the sixth, Feger came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Nationals in front, 2-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Washington manager Kawika Emsley-Pai. "It's usually not just one thing."
