Nationals Pick Up 2-1 Win Over Cleveland
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Doug Feger, the Washington Nationals defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 2-1. Feger was 2-4 with 2 singles for the Nationals. Washington reliever Jon Rinehart was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Tony Cabello took the loss. With the win over Cleveland, the Nationals improved to 28-21.
Feger had a critical at-bat in the top of the seventh for Washington, coming through with a run-scoring single to put Washington in front, 2-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Feger told the Washington Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
