Montreal Drops Another One, 8-2
|
The New York Yankees picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, taking down the Montreal Expos, 8-2. Starting pitcher Brian Gleghorn was a big reason why. Gleghorn, now 5-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The losing streak for Montreal has now reached 10 games.
The Yankees got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Grace, who in the bottom of the first hit a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Yankees on top, 4-0.
"I like our moxie," said Yankees manager Jose Mosquera.
