Angels Subdue Atlanta, 5-4
|
The Angels grabbed a win, 5-4, at Truist Park, overcoming a fine effort from Atlanta pitcher Edgar Nava. Nava went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belongs to Jonathan Nieto in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Jonathan de la Cruz took the loss for Atlanta. The save was credited to Steve Anderson, his 3rd.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Jeremy Lux to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Angels ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We take it day by day here," said Lux, "and today was a good one for us."
The Angels raised their record to 14-33.
