Phillies Down Royals, 2-1
|
Philadelphia pitcher Edwin Davila did his part in helping his team beat the Kansas City Royals, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win elevated the Phillies to 27-17.
In the bottom of the sixth, Philadelphia right fielder Danny Madera hit a two-strike cutter to right field for a run-scoring single. It put the Phillies up, 2-1.
"We'll savor this win," Madera told the Philadelphia Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
