Progressive Field was the site of a competitive game between the Cleveland Spiders and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 4-3, in National League action at Progressive Field. Los Angeles pitcher Danny Askey had a standout performance. Chris Chambers collected his 8th save.
Los Angeles relied on the hitting of Josh Somerville to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 4-3. For the game, Somerville had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said Somerville after the game.
The win puts Los Angeles at 28-12 this season.
