Mets Top Milwaukee, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers, pitcher Jake Berlin was the difference between victory and defeat. The New York right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Mets win. The losses continue to mount for Milwaukee, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
New York won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Kevin Bailey on the mound for Milwaukee, right fielder Juan Fernandez hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Mets fans to their feet.
Berlin said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
