Cardinals Edge Marlins, 2-1
|
The St. Louis Cardinals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Josh Lindenthal, who muffled the Miami offense en route to a tight 2-1 Cardinals win at Marlins Park. Lindenthal went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 3-2. St. Louis has now won 3 in a row.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Danny Walton? The St. Louis first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cardinals on top, 1-0. For the game, Walton had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Lindenthal.
