The Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a close game at Tropicana Field, the Cincinnati Reds edged the Tampa Bay Rays, 3-2. Cincinnati first baseman Juan Figueroa stood apart with his performance. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Abraham Uresti nailed down his 11th save.
Stu Kitt, the Cincinnati designated hitter, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Reds. For the game, Kitt was 1-4.
Kitt said his team "played with focus."
Cincinnati raised its record to 19-14 with the win.
