The Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the Texas Rangers, 7-4, at Globe Life Field. Chris Briggs was a big reason Toronto won. The first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Donnie Brown closed the game out for Toronto, earning his 3rd save. The 6th-place Blue Jays improved to 17-18.

Briggs had a timely hit for Toronto in the top of the sixth. With Texas trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-0 changeup into a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Toronto.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Briggs. "And not try to do too much."
