St. Louis Gets 12-0 Win
|
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Miami Marlins, 12-0, at Marlins Park. Starting pitcher Tomás Givotovsky was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The win gives St. Louis a season record of 17-16.
Fernando Tatis Jr. dealt the Marlins a blow in the top of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and St. Louis leading 1-0, Tatis Jr., who finished 4th in the NL in wins above replacement with 6.9 in 2021, hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Givotovsky.
