Hill Brilliant as Reds Top Rays, 2-0
|
The Cincinnati Reds went home winners at Tropicana Field, thanks in large part to starter John Hill. Hill stifled the Tampa Bay Rays, enabling Cincinnati to grab the 2-0 win. Abraham Uresti earned the save for Cincinnati, his 10th of the year. The loss makes the Rays 9-21.
Hill, a native of Poinciana, Florida, was dealing all game. He kept Tampa Bay hitters off-balance, while giving the Reds 6.1 quality innings. Hill threw 89 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 9.
"John did a tremendous job," said Cincinnati manager Daniel Butler.
