Nationals Lose, 6-1
|
The Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Angels were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Los Angeles Angels relied on the hitting of shortstop Darius Amerson to stop the Washington Nationals, 6-1. For the game, Amerson went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Los Angeles is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 9th win in 31 games.
Los Angeles relied on the bat of Ricky Romay to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Angels ahead, 3-0. For the game, Romay had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Romay told the Los Angeles Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
