Tovar Goes Yard 3 Times Tuesday, August 19th , 2031 Ezequiel Tovar brutalized the Jackson Armadillos pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 20-4 Braithwaite victory at River Hawks Grove. The Braithwaite River Hawks shortstop was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "Too much Ezequiel Tovar today," Armadillos manager said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Ezequiel Tovar hit a two-run home run off Jesus Vivas in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jesus Vivas in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in a run in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Dave Carline in the 8th. In 44 games this season, Tovar has compiled a .314 batting average with 54 hits and 24 home runs. He has also scored 57 times and knocked in 72 runs. |
