Gonzalez Torches Grand Slam for 5 Hits Monday, August 2nd , 2027 It seemed Newberry Swallows catcher Anyelo Gonzalez could do no wrong today, but it still didn't come out right. The Swallows fell against the Plantation (Sarasota County) Grand Slam by the score of 10-9. Gonzalez did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but in the end, Plantation (Sarasota County) prevailed at Grand Slam Park. "I felt real good today, but my best just wasn't enough," Gonzalez said in the postgame interview. "We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and put the ball in play well, and they fell in for base hits. Some days they do that." Anyelo Gonzalez hit a two-run home run off Jared Lyons in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 10th and grounded out in the 13th.
