Nationals Lose to Phillies in Walk-Off
|
In the 6-5 Philadelphia win over Washington, the impact of Eloy Jimenez was substantial. Jimenez, who finished 3rd in the AL in extra base hits with 28 in 2020, was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The 'W' lifts Philadelphia's record to 50-71.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Jimenez hit a slider from Josh Sborz for a run-scoring single. The Phillies, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We had a chance to win," said Washington manager Gabe Saracino, "but we didn't get it done."
