The New York Mets took Texas pitcher Tyler Glasnow's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Globe Life Field. The final score had New York getting past the Rangers, 3-2. Glasnow went 9 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 10. New York, at 52-22, is 18½ games up in the National League East Division.

Randal Grichuk, who finished 5th in the NL in triples with 7 in 2015, had a direct impact on the outcome. Grichuk contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put New York up, 3-2.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Joe Bubanj.
