Despite a fine performance by first baseman Ryan Mountcastle, the Cleveland Guardians lost to the Miami Marlins, 6-5. Mountcastle was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Alemao Hernandez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Michael Lorenzen suffered the loss. The win has Miami at 22-41.

Thomas Saggese, who is tied for 10th in the NL in triples with 3, aided the Miami cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman went 2-4 with a double.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Saggese said.
