Guardians Lose By a Run at Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Angels withstood an impressive performance by Cleveland shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. to defeat the Guardians, 7-6, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Witt Jr. was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Los Angeles reliever Ty Adcock was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Gerrit Cole took the loss. With the win over Cleveland, the Angels improved to 24-27.

The Angels got a big at-bat from catcher Sean Murphy. For the game, Murphy was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 6-4 lead.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Murphy told the Los Angeles News.
