Giants Lose at Home, 7-2
|
Colorado parlayed a decent outing from starter Jordan Montgomery into a solid win over the San Francisco Giants. The final score was 7-2. In 5.1 innings, Montgomery surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Ryan Borucki recorded the save for Colorado, his 7th of the season.
Colorado used a clutch at-bat from Brandon Belt to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rockies ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Belt.
The win for the Rockies raised their record to 28-18.
