Minnesota Wins, Sanó scores 3 runs
|
Miguel Sanó helped his team muscle past the Toronto Blue Jays, 10-4. In the game, the Minnesota third baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Tarik Skubal got the win, improving to 3-3. He held the Blue Jays to 1 run on 2 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Toronto is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
With Minnesota leading 3-0 in the top of the fifth, Sanó hit a fastball from Cade Povich for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 7-0.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Kurt Schulze, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
