Astros Roll Over Mariners, 9-4
|
The Houston Astros knocked off the Seattle Mariners, 9-4, at Minute Maid Park. Andrew Vaughn was a big reason Houston won. The first baseman was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Seattle's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
The Mariners had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Astros going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the two-time Great Glove Award winner J.T. Realmuto came to the plate. Realmuto hit a 2-run home run on a full count fastball from Seattle hurler Adam Plutko. It was Realmuto's 7th home run of the year.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Realmuto.
