Twins Earn Late Win
|
The performance of Alex Jackson proved critical in helping Minnesota beat Chicago, 6-5, in 10 innings. The Twins catcher was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Minnesota reliever Michael Pineda picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Gregory Soto was saddled with the loss. The defeat makes Chicago 15-15.
Oswaldo Cabrera went 1 for 2 for Minnesota. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gregory Soto. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Cabrera told the Minnesota Bulletin.
