Short Slams 5 Hits for Chicago Saturday, June 16th , 2029 Colton Short told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Short of the Chicago White Sox did against the Portland Stags. He went to the plate 7 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 9-7 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Short in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Colton Short singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Walker Buehler in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, flied out in the 11th, walked in the 13th and singled in the 16th.
