400 Home Runs for Bellinger
Sunday, June 3rd , 2029
The crowd roared -- they knew they were seeing history -- and Cody Bellinger was delighted, too. The 33-year-old Expos right fielder was making history with his 400th career homer. The crowd buzzed and roared again when Bellinger stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.
"Never, as a kid, did I ever think I'd hit even one," he told BNN after hitting No. 400 in a 6-1 victory over Los Angeles. Bellinger went 1-for-4 in the game, had 1 run batted in, and scored 1 run.
Over his 1713-game career Bellinger has compiled a .254 batting average and collected 1634 hits, 400 home runs and 1133 RBIs.
