Padres Eke Out 5-4 Win Versus Houston
|
J.J. Zollo was outstanding against Houston. The left-hander, who is on pace for 208 strikeouts this season, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Padres 5-4 win. The National League West Division-leading Padres are 61-30.
Asher Kim, who finished 2nd in the NL in hits with 199 in 2025, contributed to the San Diego win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We found a way to get it done," Zollo said.
