Baltimore Dismisses New York, 2-1
|
Franklin Parra could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his New York Mets lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Baltimore Orioles at Citi Field. Grant Gambrell, 2-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The 5th-place Orioles have won 4 consecutive games.
Baltimore used the bat of Jorge Bejarano to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Orioles ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Bejarano told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
