Brown Leads Blue Jays to Win
|
Ed Brown knocked in 4 runs to help Toronto beat San Diego, 6-2. The third baseman collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Braden Halladay, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 9-3. Toronto goes to 58-28, San Diego to 56-29.
With Toronto leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Brown hit a sinker from Zach McMahon for a bases-clearing double. It was his 22nd double of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Brown said after the game.
