Leudy Pena drove in 3 runs to help Tampa Bay defeat Boston, 4-2. The designated hitter had 1 double and 1 home run for the Rays. The win was credited to Kolby Allard in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Mike Boore took the loss. Tommy Migliazzo sewed up the save, his 24th.

Pena contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Tampa Bay in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Pena took a fastball from Mike Boore and stroked the home run to right. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Rays to leap in front, 3-1.

After the game, Tampa Bay manager Aiden Pearson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

The Rays improve their record to 39-40 with the win over Boston.
