Gretzky Excels, But Yankees Win
Both teams had their chances, but the New York Yankees eventually prevailed.

Toronto got a terrific game from left fielder Trevor Gretzky. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to New York, 6-5. Gretzky was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Luis Patino picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Billy Snyder was tagged with the loss. Earning the save was Tanner Scott. He's now cashed in 20 of 27 save opportunities.

New York used a clutch hit from Jules Zanna to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It feels good to get this one," Zanna told the New York Bulletin.

The victory gives New York a record of 40-37.
