Blue Jays Hand Royals 4-2 Loss
|
The Toronto Blue Jays handed the Kansas City Royals a loss at Kauffman Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Ed Brown was one of the major contributors for Toronto. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 3. Tanner Houck, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The first-place Blue Jays improved to 52-21.
Brown contributed when he hit a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth. Coming with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the home run proved to be critical to helping Toronto get the win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Toronto manager Haris Money. "It's usually not just one thing."
