Brewers Fall Short, 3-2, at Chicago
|
The Chicago Cubs eked out a 3-2 win versus the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Brandon Woodruff. He was terrific. Woodruff went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 9-1. Noah Song was called on to finish, recording his 19th save.
Charlie Moore had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run double. His 17th double of the season put Chicago on top, 3-0.
"Both teams played hard," said Chicago manager Anthony Muli.
The Cubs improve their record to 43-25 with the win over Milwaukee.
