The Houston Astros bested the Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-7, at Minute Maid Park. Kenny Rodriguez was one of the standouts. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. Houston reliever Jose Alvarado picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. Cesar Angomas absorbed the loss. Edwin Diaz closed the game out for Houston, earning his 14th save.

Houston took a 9-7 lead on Rae LaJay's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Cesar Angomas in the bottom of the eighth.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Astros manager Benjamin Haslam. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

Today's win puts Houston at 41-15, while Los Angeles falls to 36-23.
