Guardians Dealt 11-8 Home Loss
|
The 11-8 Kansas City win over Cleveland was due largely to Lucas Parker. The Royals first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Kansas City reliever Bobby Householder picked up the win to move to 2-1. Joe Goodman suffered the loss. Brad Byrne picked up the save for Kansas City, his 14th of the year.
With Kansas City leading 7-0 in the top of the third, Parker hit a 2-run single off Cleveland hurler Juan Wiscovitch. It was the 51st hit of the season for Parker and put his team ahead, 9-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Parker told the Kansas City Observer.
The Royals improve their record to 18-39 with the win over Cleveland.
