5 Hits for Liberty Patterson Thursday, July 17th , 2053 The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Scottie Patterson. The first baseman for the Philadelphia Liberty hit the milestone today against the Memphis Blues, helping his club to a narrow 12-11 victory. Patterson finished with a 5-for-6 line at the plate. "Patterson was a tough out today," Memphis manager Deshun Dixon told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one." Scottie Patterson doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Cal Bates in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
