The New York Empire and Charlotte Knights obliged fans looking for a good time.
New York designated hitter Lucifer Morningstar made his presence felt in the 5-4 Empire triumph over the Charlotte Knights. Morningstar went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Bob Prial. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Stan Hallet recorded the save, his 15th.
Bobby Castoro drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate for New York. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Derek Marthaller. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
