Outlaws Defeat Liberty, 6-5
|
The Nashville Outlaws racked up a win at Roughnecks Ballpark, bumping off the Philadelphia Liberty, 6-5. Jeff Werstein, who started for Nashville, pitched effectively for his team. Nashville reliever António Mora picked up the win to move to 2-0. Hal Bierly suffered the loss. Nashville now has a record of 27-24 with the win.
Nashville first baseman Joe Del Viscio had a nice game. In the top of the tenth inning with two out, he belted a solo home run for the Outlaws. It made the score 6-5, Nashville. For the game, Del Viscio was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Nashville manager Billy Hollis.
